Frequently Asked Question (FAQs)

1. Can I pursue a BA B.Ed. if I have a B.Tech degree?

While you can pursue a BA B.Ed. after a degree or a diploma in engineering, it doesn't make much sense to invest four years in doing so. If you already have an undergraduate degree, you can straightaway apply for a non-integrated B.Ed. two-year programme.

2. Can I get admission in a BA B.Ed. programme only based on my 10+2 class marks?

No, you must appear for an entrance examination for which you must prepare well. While it is possible to get through a B.A. programme only based on 10+2 class marks, for an integrated degree such as this one, you need to write and clear a competitive exam.

3. What are the most sought-after specialisations related to B.A. B.Ed. integrated programme?

There are various subjects you can choose from that you will primarily teach when you finish your degree. However, the popular ones are the ones where it is difficult to find teachers. Therefore, teachers for Sanskrit, Criminology, Modern Indian Languages and animation film design are always difficult to find.

4. Which Private Universities have an excellent B.A. B.Ed. course?

A few good universities offering this integrated degree programme are-

  • MDU(MAHARSHI DAYANAD UNIVERSITY)
  • CRSU(CHAUDHARY RANBIR SINGH UNIVERSITY)
  • KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY

5. Do I have to pay the fee for this course in advance?

There are various payment plans for this course, like any other programme. You can either pay the tuition fee per semester or yearly, but it has to be paid in advance.

6. Is teaching practice or internship mandatory to finish this course?

Yes, the teacher training is a vital part of this course. The duration of the teaching practice is generally at least four months. Without completing this requisite, you will not be allowed to graduate.

7. I got 43 per cent marks in my 10+2 board examination. Will I be allowed to take the entrance test?

Firstly, it depends on which reservation category you belong to. If you fall in the General category (GEN), you are not allowed to sit for the central level entrance examinations. However, there may be other colleges who don't mind a lower percentage cut-off for appearing in the entrance test. However, if you belong to the SC/ST category, you can certainly appear for various entrance tests.

8. Do I need teaching experience to apply for this programme?

No, you do not need any teaching experience to apply for this course. Since you will gain admission right after 10+2, it is understood that you come with zero experience and as a fresher. To aid you with teaching expertise, the B.A. B.Ed. integrated degree programme will demand a teaching internship which will groom you for the future.
